Embrace Everyday works in collaboration with the community to connect people, promote education, provide funds for disabled individuals in crisis, provide support, and work towards systematic change that will increase measurable and sustainable improvement in the disabled community.
Why advocate?
About 14% of the US population lives with disabilities; about 350 million people. About 20 million people in the US live with severe disabilities that limit multiple functions in their day-to-day life. About two million individuals live with a limitation to at least one of their daily functions due to their disability. Only 40% of disabled individuals in the US have been able to find and keep a job. 66% of workplace discrimination charges are disability related. Over 87 million disabled individuals in the US are burdened by poverty.
how can i become a better advocate?
One of our main goals is to advocate for individuals with disabilities. Much of how we accomplish this is through education. We offer the option to discuss how our community can become more educated.
We believe one of the best ways to become educated is through First Aid certifications.
