ABOUT NEW LIFE WORKING DOGS

WHO ARE NEW LIFE WORKING DOGS?

New Life Working Dogs (NLWD) passionately works to create well-trained and reliable service dogs by assisting handlers with training. NLWD provides the tools, methods, guidance, lifestyle guidance with your dog, and more. Because we are so dedicated to the dogs we train on a 24/7 basis, we do not long-term assist many dogs and their handlers at a time.

WHAT ARE MY OPTIONS WITH NEW LIFE WORKING DOGS?

For those seeking a new puppy prospect, we are able to guide handlers in the direction of breeders and the process that comes with getting a new puppy prospect. This may include temperament testing, preparation for their coming home, picking up the puppy, pre-arrival educational consults and planning, 24/7 chat support, and training sessions. For handlers who already have a puppy prospect, we may provide, training sessions, 24/7 chat support, and talk consults (to plan routines, talk about diets, how they should be exercised, grooming for the breed, socialization, and more.) For those who have service dogs in training, need to practice / task train, have fully trained service dogs and just need to condition, we provide sessions for these as well. For those working for various titles such as AKC Star Puppy, CGC titles, Trick Dog titles, Rally, Obedience, or scent work titles, we are equipped to train for these specific interests. For those with pets who need training in basic obedience behavioral altering (reactivity, fear, or aggressive rehabilitation), or mannerisms in/out of the home, the services are provided as well.

DOES NEW LIFE WORKING DOGS ALSO TRAIN PETS?

Yes, New Life working Dogs also train pets as well as provide behavioral training for dogs and training for dogs in various sports although service dogs and service dog prospects remain on the main priority list.

CAN ANYONE GET A SERVICE DOG?

Per ADA Laws, you must have a disability that a dog can task for in order to qualify for a service dog. Most importantly, a dog who tasks reliably must benefit the handler's disability. The person or guardian must be able to care for the service dog and meet their basic needs.

WHAT DOES IT MEAN TO HANDLER TRAIN?

It means that the handler trains the dog in their home. This can be done with the help of a professional who gives them the tools and guidance to safely and effectively set the dog up for the highest success rate for the service dog prospect's future.

WHAT'S THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN A SERVICE DOG AND AN EMOTIONAL SUPPORT DOG?

An emotional support animal does not have to task as they bring emotional support only. They do not have public access. A service dog tasks for a handler's disability. This trained animal (dog or miniature horse) goes anywhere that the handler goes with the exemption of some areas in a zoo and operating rooms in hospitals.

HOW MUCH DOES IT COST TO WORK WITH NEW LIFE WORKING DOGS?

The baseline amount per session is $60 for each session. If a long-term training plan is discussed, training is $250 per 6 weeks. There may be additional fees based upon the circumstances of training however, training costs for service dogs are kept low due to the financial nature of training a service dog.
