The Book

Remember What I Embraced

'Remember What I Embraced' is not only about embracing my service dog. It is about embracing the echoes of every story reflected in min. Echo mirrored strength when I could not feel it, and I learned to mirror it for others. He reflected my energy he was given and offered comfort where it was needed most. That is the person I became, and the community we built together: a place where we embrace one another's echoes until we find our own voice.

I spent years trying to be “strong enough” to not need help. Echo taught me that being held makes us human. I’m writing that truth down.

Echo didn’t just alert to seizures—he alerted me to who I was becoming. This book is for everyone who finds themselves in someone else’s story.

These echoes changed me: “I felt less alone.” “I finally asked for help.” Thank you for shaping my voice while I found it.
